Lavasa is a privately planned hill city located near Pune in Maharashtra based on the Italian town Portofino. Lavasa is a perfect blend of beauty and infrastructure.
My trip to Lavasa was a mesmerizing one. The first privately planned hill city that i had visited was Lavasa and it was really worth a second visit. Being there towards the end of june, the rainy season had just begun. As we were heading towards lavasa, it was drizzling on the way. So this wonderful trip if ours was accompanied by good rains.
On they way the sceneic beauty was too good showcasing how vast greenery we still have in some parts of the country specially on the hills. The view of clear clouds was fascinating. Heading towards the main destination, on the way there were many water falls with a beautiful scenic view. On arriving, we saw the various flats built for living, anyone could live there and use it as a guest house for a couple of days which was cool.
Unfortunately the day we choose was not the right day as it was monsoon season so we could not see the place completely however we did not miss out the fun in visiting all the view points to the best as we could. Some points like boating were closed due to the rains and the water level raising drastically in the boating area was visibly observed.
Though we had umbrellas, the winds were blowing so strongly that it opposed the direction of rain leaving us completely drenched. Yet we managed to hang around hoping for the rain to stop but it started raining more heavily. We moved to a restaurant where we could dry ourselves a bit and enjoy the evening with some snacks and beverages.
Hence we had a memorable experience exploring while it was heavily raining.
